SYTYCK: perfectly fitting Sideways

What makes a fitting sock?
  • Know your feet: size, length and width, lumps and curves?
  • Know the pattern: sizing, stockinette, lace, cables or ribbing? How stretchy?
  • Know your gauge: tight or loose, optimal number of stitches for a fitting sock?
  • Know the yarn: normal sock yarn, thicker or thinner? Different from the original pattern?
  • Put all details together: how the sizing of the pattern fit your feet? What changes do you need to make? What size needles your need?
  • Try the sock on continuously
  • Do not be afraid to ravel.
  • Wear it proudly!

Pattern: Sideways / Sivupolku by Anni Vartola
Yarn: Lang Yarn Lawoll Solid Superwash, 100% wool containing one ply of color matched reinforcement yarn. Bought in Berlin
Comments: An easy pattern with nice details in the back of the leg. Ribbing makes the socks stretchy and fitting.
Things that have enlightened my day:
  • A couple of glasses of red wine with a neighbour
  • Christmas cards from friends
  • My dear Hubby and our dearest Daughter!
