Knitting in Berlin

I took a trip to Berlin lighter than usually: no camera, no books, no knitting, no gps, no caches. Just the wallet, laptop and me. And I loved the city! Without camera and needles you really have time to look and watch, feel and hear, smell and taste. Have time just to be.

But, this does not mean that I did not visit any yarn shops. Because I did! Beforehand, I hade checked from Ravelry that LaLaine would be a nice shop to visit. And voilá, there it was in a walking distance from my hotel. And what a wonderful shop I found! Shelfs full of beautiful yarns that I've never seen or tried, friendly staff, nice ladies as customers. Like a little haven in a rainy Berlin morning!

Since I travelled light, I had only limited luggage space. I choosed only two different yarns from Lang Yarns from Switzerland:
Jawoll is a sock yarn with 5 g reinforcing yarn inserted into the centre of the main ball. The reinforcing yarn is intended to reinforce the heels and toes of socks in a finished sock.
Baby Alpaca will become a gift scarf. This is a very soft yarn with a nice shade of grey.

I meant to visit other yarn shops after this, but then something else came and filled my luggage. Kaikki ne kommentoikoot, jotka jotekin kokevat olleensa vaikuttamassa tähän värivalintaan:
Things that have enlightened my life:
  • Berlin: its history and the way it is today!
  • All those lovely and inspiring people I met there
  • My dear family who knows how to take care while the mother is fussing around the globe
